Canibad: The Unspoiled Beauty

Many places around the world have beautiful and inviting beaches. All of these beaches offer a variety of different activities you can do to add up to the flavors of your long planned, finally realized, vacation. While tourists certainly have different preferences when it comes to choosing the beach to spend their vacations in, many if not all would agree that a natural, unspoiled beauty is on top of the list. And when we speak of unspoiled and naturally beautiful beaches, Canibad could easily get ahead of the competition.

Located in Barangay Aundanao in The Island Garden City Of Samal, Canibad could certainly paint you a picture what a peaceful and relaxing vacation is all about. This haven is just what you need to distance your self from the fast paced life in the cities. Unlike well known and frequently visited beach resorts where other people annoy you with their noise (as if they are the only ones in that place), this place is the exact opposite. And oh, don't get me wrong. This is not a place so remote that you seldom see other people because that is just kinda creepy. There are of course other tourists who visit the place every now and then but since it is not as accessible as the other well known beaches in the area, this never gets too crowded with people.
This may have been one of the reasons why this place has not been so developed but honestly, I would love for it to remain this way. If you are worried about spending the night along the beach, they have a few cottages for rent or you may opt to stay in a camping tent - just make sure to take with you your own because they don't have tents for rent.

While staying in Canibad, swimming is not all there is to it in this paradise. You can rent a boat and paddle your way to see just how beautiful the blue water is or see up close its majestic cliffs. And if you are one who loves extreme activities, you can climb up the cliff and jump all the way down to its clear and blue water.
Your Way To Paradise
Getting to Canibad is not so difficult since the locals are very familiar with the place. When you get to Samal, just ask the local Habal - Habal drivers and someone could surely point you to the right direction. You may also pay them to get you there for a minimal fee of around a hundred pesos - this may vary but you can always negotiate.
Now going back to downtown Samal from Canibad would have been a little bit of a problem if you don't have your own car, but thanks to the resort owners, they have contacts from among the Habal - Habal drivers who can take you back downtown.
Things To Remember
Half way to the top of the cliff, we have stop and take selfie!
Should you decide to experience for yourself the beauty of this paradise and especially, when you plan of staying overnight, don't forget to bring your own tent just in case there won't be any available cottages when you get there. Always bring water, food, extra cash (for emergency), and an insect repellent lotion. I suggest that you contact the resort first as part of your preparation. Also, in case of an emergency, it would be nice to know that you can dial 911 from your cell phone.
